Portland – “Noise in the waters” by the Teatro delle Albe
“Noise in the waters stems for telling an experience, resulting from travel notes, after a long stay in Mazara del Vallo (Sicily)” -says Martinelli in his director’s notes- “That acid and neurotic admiral, that functionary who is fed up with standing there and counting numbers and deads and line them up; that sarcastic poor accountant, that powerless spectator in front of TV news, that, exactly that is all us, is me.”
The show, under the patronage of Amnesty International, debuted on July 2010 at the Ravenna Festival and has been staged in many places, from Lampedusa to Corsica, from Germany to Belgium, from France to the United States. In these years it has been translated into German, French, English, Spanish and Romanian.
This American performance is staged with music composed especially for this event by Ryan Anthony Francis, one of Portland's most exciting composers.
